A long trip to Drammen in Norway to compete with other South Africans, Johan Lotter, Cara Frew and Charles Luycks in the Nations Cup. I took Cassiano Z (Goofy) and Silver Spring – David McPherson has given me this lovely horse to ride.
Results have been good for the show
Thursday – I good 6th on Goofy in the 1.4m class from 66 starters
Friday – Clear round on Silver Spring in the 1.4m class from 65 starters, out of the placings but very happy with my round.
Saturday – Nations Cup, Goofy had a pole in the first round and 2 poles in the second round. The South African Team were out of the placings, but good exposure and experience for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.
Saturday – came third on Silver Spring in the 1.4m Championat Final of Drammen from 49 starters, I’m so happy with his performance
Sunday – Norway1.60m Grand Prix, I had a good clear in the first round and was last to go out of the four clears in the first round and Johnny went superbly, WE WON from 73 starters!! I am SO proud. It was a very special moment.
The prize giving after our wonderful win!

Proudly South African

This is a National Show in Germany with riders using it to keep their horses going in preparation for the WEG in Kentucky.
I have had a show with mixed results. I decided to take Corvette out for a look at the fences and I was happy with him for his first time out in a while, good experience for him. Billy de Laubrey had a few good classes and Silver Spring is really starting to show his form, and has jumped consistantly throughout the show, he is going to be the one to watch!!

Had a good start to the show Billy came 12 from 112 starters with a good clear in 56.03sec.
Balve is a beautiful show and my shoulder is holding up well, even though I get quite tired. I am wearing a special vest (bit like a wet suit) to keep my arm in a certain position.

Goofy has also gone really well with only 1 pole down in the Grand Prix. Here are some wonderful photos of Jerry and Goofy, the water jump with Goofy is 4m wide!!!

Oliver went to CN2* show at Wickede-Asseln-Solde near Dortmund yesterday to get back into the ring and his eye in after his shoulder operation and had a great result – he came 1st with Billy in the 1.35m final. The conditions were horrific, driving rain and infact Connery unable to jump due to the severe weather. Jerry took one pole and was pretty excitable! But all good for Oliver and shoulder though plenty of physio part of his schedule now. BALVE here we come!
